The State Security Service and the State Border Service prevented an attempt to import about 42 kg of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan

An attempt to import about 42 kg of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan was prevented. As Report informs, the State Security Service (SSS) and the State Border Service (SBS) carried out joint operational and investigative measures to combat smuggling and illegal trafficking of large quantities of drugs.
As a result of the operation on the section of the Azerbaijani-Iranian border passing through the territory of the Imishli district, an attempt to import various types of drugs with a total weight of about 42 kg (33 kg 125 g of dried marijuana, 5 kg 015 g of opium, 2 kg 090 g of heroin, 1 kg 440 g of methamphetamine) was prevented.
Operational and investigative measures are currently ongoing.
