The Supreme Court discussed the application of the institution of mediation in family disputes

A round table on the topic “The importance of applying the institution of mediation in family disputes and international experience” was held at the Supreme Court, Report informs.
It was noted that the purpose of the event, held against the backdrop of an increase in the number of divorces, was to analyze judicial practice, discuss out-of-court methods of resolving family disputes and study international experience.
The importance of the institution of the family as the main unit of society, enshrined in the Constitution of Azerbaijan, was emphasized. Emphasis was placed on the need to strengthen intra-family relations and peaceful resolution of disputes. The use of alternative mechanisms contributes to mutual understanding, social reconciliation and reducing the burden on the courts.
The need for a special approach to family disputes and the importance of using out-of-court methods to reduce the number of divorces were noted. The importance of joint work to improve legislation and judicial practice was emphasized. The positive experience of Turkey was cited as an example.
The event ended with a discussion, exchange of opinions and discussion of prospects for cooperation.
