Over 17,000 crimes registered in Azerbaijan in six months

17,049 crimes were registered in Azerbaijan in the first six months of 2025. As Report informs, this was discussed at a board meeting at the Ministry of Internal Affairs dedicated to the results of the first half of the year.

It is reported that 94.4% of the total number of crimes were investigated in a procedural manner by the internal affairs bodies and the prosecutor’s office.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of serious and especially serious crimes has significantly decreased – by 18.9%, crimes involving the use of firearms – by 2 times, recidivism – by 19.8%, group crimes – by 18.8%, domestic conflict-related crimes – by 5.5%, intentional murders – by 39.1%, as well as thefts and frauds – by 6.2% and 7.3%, respectively.

The crime detection rate was 92.8%, including 232 crimes from previous years. Also, 3,378 units of firearms were seized, 79.7% of wanted persons were detained.
