A trial was held in the Sabail District Court of Baku to choose a preventive measure in the form of arrest for Ramil Aliyev (born in 1991) and Ismayil Hasanov (born in 1974) in a criminal case being investigated by the State Security Service (SSS) of Azerbaijan.
As reported by Oxu.Az, it follows from the case materials that as a result of operational and investigative measures carried out by the SSS, individuals who committed various crimes both abroad and in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan were identified, detained and presented to the investigation.
It was established that the detainees, serving their sentences in penitentiary institutions of a foreign state for premeditated murder and other serious and especially serious crimes against the person, were personally selected by the former leader of the armed formation “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin. They were released from serving their sentences and, for an agreed reward, were recruited to participate in various military operations.
The accused took part in training and combat operations in the territories of various countries with the use of firearms and explosives. In addition, they were actively recruiting other citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan to participate in similar activities outside the country.
At present, investigations are being conducted in relation to R. Aliyev and I. Hasanov, as well as other criminal acts committed against citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan and foreign states.
As a result of the trial, a preventive measure in the form of arrest for a period of 4 months was chosen for Ramil Aliyev and Ismayil Hasanov.
