Attempt to transport a large consignment of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan prevented

On July 16, in the service area of the Goytepe border detachment of the State Border Service (SBS), a large consignment of drugs was prevented from being transported from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan using an unmanned aerial vehicle. As reported by Oxu.Az, this was stated by the SBS.

It was noted that the border outpost was immediately raised upon the command “To arms”, the service area was closed, and a border search was conducted.

As a result of operational and military measures, a Hyundai vehicle (77-RA-376), which was trying to leave the area, was detained with the help of the local population, and during the inspection of the car, a large amount of marijuana with a total weight of 12 kg 600 g was found and confiscated.

During the initial interrogation, it was established that the detainees were a resident of the city of Baku, Agshin Ilgar oglu Shakhtakhtinsky (born in 1998), and a resident of the Fizuli region, Rinad Aladdin oglu Aliyev (born in 2003), who confessed to the crime and stated that they arrived in the region to pick up drugs.

Investigative measures are ongoing on this fact.
