Azerbaijan extradited a wanted citizen of Uzbekistan

Azerbaijan handed over to Uzbekistan a citizen of this country, who was put on the international wanted list. This was reported to Oxu.Az by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan.
According to the information, Amonbek Abdulhakovich Yusupov (born in 1982) was extradited at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan. In his homeland, he is accused of committing a crime related to the humiliation of the honor and dignity of the president, in connection with which he was on the interstate wanted list.
Yusupov was detained in Azerbaijan in April of this year. A preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen for him.
Based on the Convention “On Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Cases” of October 7, 2002, a decision was made on extradition. The accused was handed over to the competent authority of the Republic of Uzbekistan, accompanied by a special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan.
