A large sum of money was stolen from a car in front of a store in the Narimanov district of Baku.
According to oxu.az, a resident of the district, Fikret Jafarov, was held accountable for theft. While under house arrest, he received 1,100 manats from his lover. However, he did not return the money for several years. As a result, the girl broke up with him.
Some time after the incident, at night in front of a store in the Narimanov district, he saw the open trunk of a Mercedes-Benz S-Class S 450 car belonging to businessman A. Guliyev. Fikret approached the vehicle and stole a bag that was in the trunk. The bag contained 96,000 manats and $20,000. He took it and left the scene.
Taking money from his bag, Fikret sent 2,500 manats to his ex-lover, trying to make peace with her, but his attempt failed.
The next day, as a result of an operation carried out by police officers, F. Jafarov was detained in his home and handed over to the investigation.
The Baku Court of Grave Crimes sentenced F. Jafarov to 6 years and 7 months in prison.
