The arrest period of the employee of the State Tourism Agency extended

The arrest period of Nijat Huseynov, an employee of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who was arrested in a criminal case initiated by the State Security Service (SSS), has been extended, Oxu.Az reports. The Sabail District Court made a decision based on the investigator’s petition and the submission of the prosecutor who is carrying out procedural management of the preliminary investigation.

The court, taking into account the need to collect additional evidence in the case, decided to extend the period of pretrial detention for Nijat Huseynov for another 2 months. He is accused by the SSS under Article 308 (abuse of power) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Let us recall that 4 months ago, in connection with violations of the law identified in the State Tourism Agency, a number of officials of the structure were removed from their positions, and the State Security Service opened a criminal case in connection with illegal actions.
