Import of a large batch of drugs from Iran prevented

Azerbaijani border guards have prevented an attempt to illegally import drugs from Iran into the country, Report informs with reference to the State Border Service (SBS).

According to the information, an attempt to violate the state border from Iran in the direction of Azerbaijan was prevented in the area of responsibility of the Lankaran border detachment of the State Border Service (SBS).

As a result of the border search and operational activities, drugs with a total weight of 17 kg 450 g (11 kg 450 g of marijuana, 6 kg of hashish) and 4,950 M-40 methadone tablets containing narcotic substances were found and seized in the service area.
