More than 100 kilograms of marijuana seized

Employees of the Astara Customs Department have identified and confiscated a large consignment of narcotics as a result of a series of operational-search and customs control measures, Report informs with reference to the Public Relations and Press Department of the State Customs Committee. At the Yug-Astara customs post, a vehicle traveling in transit through the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation with a cargo of “pepper” was subjected to a thorough inspection with the involvement of a service dog.

During the inspection, 154 rectangular packages hidden under a layer of goods were extracted from the bottom of the boxes with pepper. The total weight of the confiscated marijuana was approximately 103 kg 395 g.

An investigation is underway into the fact.
