A person who promised social assistance under the guise of an official sentenced

A man accused of committing fraud against citizens has been sentenced. The accused introduced himself as the head of the working group on social assistance of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population. As reported by Oxu.Az with reference to Qaynarinfo, by the decision of the Sabunchu District Court, a citizen named Intigam, found guilty under Articles 178.2.2 and 178.2.4 (fraud committed repeatedly with causing significant damage) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 2 years.
It became known from the case materials that the accused created a page on the TikTok platform called “social assistance check”, where he disseminated false information that he could help citizens receive social benefits. In this way, he managed to attract the attention of several people.
