More than 15 kg of drugs seized during special operation

Law enforcement agencies have seized a large batch of narcotic substances weighing 15 kg from illegal circulation in the Khatai and Binagadi districts of Baku, Oxu.Az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan. Thus, employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Drugs carried out a successful operation, as a result of which two previously convicted 29-year-old citizens were detained – Royal Mammadov and Javad Mammadov.

During the search of the apartment and car of the detainees, 15 kg 460 g of marijuana with the addition of harmful substances, as well as electronic scales used for packaging and selling drugs were found.

The investigation established that the detainees entered into a criminal conspiracy with an Iranian citizen, whose identity is currently being established. According to the scheme, narcotic substances were purchased in hiding places, after which they were planned to be placed in pre-determined points for subsequent sale.

A criminal case has been opened on this fact. The court ruled that both suspects should be placed under arrest as a preventive measure.
