The measures to ensure reliable protection of the state border and combat the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors continue successfully, Oxu.Az reports, citing the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan.
It is noted that in the area of responsibility of the Lankaran border detachment of the Border Troops of the SBS, an attempt to violate the state border from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the direction of the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented.
As a result of the border search and operational activities, narcotics with a total weight of 12 kg 270 g, as well as 1,970 M-40 methadone tablets with narcotic content were found and seized on the service territory.
Investigative and operational activities are ongoing on this fact.
