Court convicts company director for misappropriation and legalization of funds

The Baku Court of Grave Crimes has sentenced the director of 35 companies, Fagani Rahimov, who is accused of large-scale misappropriation and legalization of funds obtained through government tenders. As Report informs, the court sentenced Rahimov to five years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of three years.

According to the investigation, his companies repeatedly won tenders from government agencies. About 600 thousand manats were transferred to the organizations’ accounts, of which 62.4 thousand manats, according to the prosecution, he tried to legalize by concealing the real origin of the funds.
