Two people detained while trying to transport drugs

A police operation to combat drug trafficking was conducted in the Yardimli district, Report informs citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The district police department detained 43-year-old Igbal Sakhratov and previously convicted 38-year-old Dadash Kazimov. About 6 kg of marijuana were seized from them.

The investigation established that the drugs were obtained from an Iranian citizen, whose identity is being clarified. The detainees planned to secretly transport the cargo to Baku through the hard-to-reach areas of Yardimli.

A criminal case was initiated, and the court decided to impose a preventive measure in the form of arrest on both individuals.
