A person who embezzled a large sum of money from an entrepreneur sentenced

The investigation into the criminal case of Ilgar Abasov, who fraudulently seized more than 1.5 million manats in total, has been completed. The money belonged to an entrepreneur working in the Bina shopping center, Oxu.Az reports. At a hearing in the Baku Grave Crimes Court chaired by Judge Anar Sadigov, the verdict was read out, according to which the defendant was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

It should be noted that the basis for initiating the criminal case was Samir Azadaliyev’s appeal to the Ministry of Internal Affairs on August 9, 2023, due to the fact that Ilgar Abasov and Sudef Nagiyev seized his money in the amount of 1.5 million manats under the pretext of transferring payment for clothing ordered from Turkey, which he sold in the Bina shopping center.

During the investigation it was revealed that Ilgar Abasov, having abused trust and by deception, took possession of someone else’s property. He was charged with repeated fraud with causing particularly large damage.
