Attempt to smuggle gold inside chocolates prevented

Employees of the Main Customs Administration for Air Transport prevented an attempt to smuggle gold across the customs border of Azerbaijan, Oxu.Az reports with reference to the State Customs Committee. Thus, during the inspection of the luggage of a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan flying on the Baku-Istanbul flight, customs officers recorded suspicious objects on the monitor. During the inspection of the passenger’s suitcase, 240 g of gold were found inside 32 chocolates.

An investigation is underway into this incident.
