A woman who deceived citizens by promising them employment, pensions and social benefits has been sentenced in the city of Sumgait, Oxu.Az reports. The Sumgait City Court sentenced Z.R. to one year and 11 months of restricted freedom under Articles 178.2.2, 178.2.4 (fraud committed repeatedly and causing significant damage) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
Earlier, Z.R. was already sentenced to 360 hours of community service. This punishment was equated to a 90-day restriction of freedom and partially combined with the new punishment. As a result, the court finally sentenced Z.R. to a 2-year restriction of freedom.
According to the case materials, Z.R. deceived several citizens, promising to get them jobs at the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), and received 2,000, 5,000 and 7,360 manats from various victims. But her criminal activity did not end there. Z.R. deceived several more people, promising them help in obtaining pensions and social benefits. During the trial, the defendant pleaded guilty to the charges brought against her. It also became known that she partially compensated for the damage caused to citizens.
