Officers from the Oguz District Police Department conducted an operation against individuals involved in drug trafficking and the cultivation of narcotic plants. As reported by Oxu.Az, citing the Sheki regional press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, four members of the same family were detained during the operation: 65-year-old Mamedsaad Mamedov, previously convicted of a serious crime; his 55-year-old wife, Gulnaz; their 34-year-old son, Orkhan; and their daughter-in-law, Dilber.
A search of their home in the village of Khachmaz revealed approximately 3 kg of marijuana, 138 cannabis plants and their parts, and narcotic plant seeds in glass containers. The detainees admitted to cultivating cannabis for some time. After receiving orders for drugs, Mammadsaad Mammadov arranged for their delivery to the specified addresses through his wife, son, and daughter-in-law.
A criminal case has been opened on this matter. The court ordered three individuals to be placed under arrest, while Dilber Mammadova was remanded in custody. Investigative actions are ongoing.
