Drug smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan prevented

An attempt to smuggle narcotics from Iran to Azerbaijan has been prevented, Oxu.Az reports, citing the State Border Service (SBS) press center.
It was noted that measures to ensure reliable protection of the state border and combat the illegal trafficking of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and their precursors are continuing successfully.
As part of these measures, an attempt to violate the state border from Iran into Azerbaijan was prevented in the service area of the Goradiz border detachment of the SBS border troops.
As a result of border search operations, 13 kg 600 grams of marijuana were discovered and seized in the area.
Investigative actions regarding this incident are ongoing.
