A sentence handed down for someone who promoted immoral behavior on TikTok

The trial of poet Ilhama Elshadgizi, who was detained in operations conducted against the promotion of immoral behavior on TikTok, has concluded, APA reports. The Baku Court of Grave Crimes, presided over by Judge Anar Sadigov, reviewed documents.
During the review of the documents, video footage confirming the defendant’s arrest and the search of her home was shown.
Following this, the court declared the investigation complete. The state prosecutor then spoke. The prosecutor requested a prison sentence of 4.5 years. The defendant’s defense called the criminal case unfounded and petitioned for her acquittal.
Ilhama Elshadgizi denied the charges and asked the court for acquittal. The court retired to the deliberation room to reach its verdict. After the deliberations, the verdict was announced. The defendant was found guilty and sentenced to three years in prison.
