An attempt to smuggle over 44,000 units of medication into Azerbaijan prenetned

As a result of operations carried out by Tovuz Customs Department officers, a large consignment of medications was discovered that was being smuggled across the customs border without declaration, Oxu.Az reports, citing the State Customs Committee.

According to information, suspicious shapes were detected during an inspection of a cargo vehicle transporting food products from the Republic of Turkey at the Red Bridge customs post using a stationary X-ray machine.

A search of the cargo compartment revealed 33 boxes containing undeclared medications of various brands, totaling 44,120 units.

An investigation is underway.
