Drug smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan prevented

The smuggling of over 8 kg of narcotics from Iran to Azerbaijan has been prevented, Oxu.Az reports, citing the press center of the State Border Service (SBS).

It was reported that two unknown individuals were spotted in a vehicle heading toward the border in the service area of ​​the Lankaran border detachment.

The border outpost was immediately alerted to the order to put its weapons on alert and sealed off the service area.

As a result of the operational search, residents of the Khachmaz district, Elshad Movsumov (born 1987) and Murad Rahimov (born 1997), were detained. They were driving a vehicle with the license plate number 90-BJ-616.

During initial interrogation, the detainees admitted that they had arrived at the location to remove a total of 8 kg 800 g of drugs.
