The Ministry of Internal Affairs warns of bank card fraud

Bank card fraud, including spoofed calls and attempts to steal personal account information, has increased, Oxu.Az reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Azerbaijan. Fraudsters typically pose as bank employees and attempt to obtain card information and confirmation codes sent via SMS.

“Remember that no bank employee will ever ask you for your PIN, CVV, SMS confirmation code, or personal information. If you notice suspicious transactions on your card, unauthorized charges, or money transfers, immediately report them to the 102 Call Center. If you receive a suspicious call, message, or link, do not respond, do not share any information, and immediately contact the police.

We recommend regularly checking card transactions, activating notifications in mobile apps, avoiding visiting unofficial websites and clicking suspicious links, and, if in doubt, contacting only the bank’s official number,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
