A sentence handed down for a person accused of anti-state calls

The final court hearing was held in the criminal case against Mehman Mammadov, who is accused of anti-state calls. As reported by APA, the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, chaired by Judge Aygun Kurbanova, held a court hearing at which the state prosecutor spoke. He requested a seven-year prison sentence for Mehman Mammadov.

The court announced the verdict, according to which Mehman Mammadov was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison.

M. Mammadov was charged under Article 281.2 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan (public calls against the state, committed repeatedly or by a group of persons by prior conspiracy).
