The Main Anti-Drug Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan conducted a successful special operation in the Astara district, Oxu.Az reports, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service. As a result of the operational search, Elchin Javadov (born 1977), previously convicted of organizing the sale of narcotics, was detained.
During a search, 55 kg of narcotics were seized from the suspect, including marijuana laced with harmful additives, methamphetamine, and opium.
During the investigation, law enforcement agencies established that Javadov was a key figure in organizing the smuggling of drugs into Azerbaijan.
A criminal case has been opened in connection with the crime. A court has ordered Elchin Javadov’s pretrial detention.
