The Ganja Court of Grave Crimes has concluded its trial of Daniela Demirova (name changed), accused of human trafficking, Oxu.Az reports. The court sentenced Demirova to nine years in prison.
According to the case file, the woman repeatedly, for selfish reasons, deceived and threatened Azerbaijani women across the border for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
In January 2024, Demirova promised her acquaintance, S.S., a job in the Turkish city of Çanakkale. After crossing the border, she placed the victim in a rented apartment and, under threats of violence, forced her to meet men for money. In August of the same year, the accused similarly deceived another acquaintance, M.M., promising her a job in Yalova. After transporting the woman to Turkey, Daniela used violence and intimidation to force the victim to meet with male clients in exchange for money in a rented apartment in Turkey and at various hotels.
Daniela Demirova was subsequently detained and charged with a crime.
