The pretrial detention of former head of the Gakh District Executive Authority extended

The court has received a motion to extend the pretrial detention of Musa Shekiliyev, the former head of the Gakh District Executive Authority, who was detained in a State Security Service (SSS) operation. According to APA, the investigative body’s motion was heard at a trial in the Sabail District Court. Musa Shekiliyev’s pretrial detention has been extended for four months.

The head of the Gakh District Executive Authority, Musa Shekiliyev, was detained in a SSS operation. He has been charged with embezzlement on an especially large scale using his official position.

According to an order signed by President Ilham Aliyev on June 21, Musa Shaban oglu Shekiliyev has been dismissed from his position as head of the Gakh District Executive Authority.
