The State Security Service and the State Border Service conducted an operation on the Azerbaijani-Iranian border

Officers from the State Security Service and the State Border Service thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs from Iran into Azerbaijan. According to Report, 36-year-old Asif Huseynov was detained during a joint operation on the Beylagan district of the Azerbaijani-Iranian border.

He was detained while attempting to retrieve approximately 26 kg of dried marijuana and 2,520 M-40 methadone tablets, which he had previously hidden.

Investigative actions are ongoing.
