The trial of four individuals accused of treason through espionage began

A preliminary hearing was held at the Baku Military Court in the criminal case opened by the State Security Service (SSS) against Ilkin Ganbarov, Vusal Agayev, Tural Aliyev, and Mammad Sharifov, accused of treason through espionage. As reported by APA, the personal information of the accused was clarified at the hearing, chaired by Judge Bilal Mammadov. The court decided to refer the case for trial. The main hearing is scheduled for October 31.
It is noted that Ilkin Ganbarov and Vusal Agayev, accused of treason through espionage by assisting foreign intelligence agents, were detained by the SSS as a result of the measures taken and are being brought into the investigation.
During ongoing operations, the State Security Service detained Tural Aliyev in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Mammad Sharifov in the Republic of Turkey. Both were transported to Azerbaijan.
They have been charged under Article 274 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (high treason).
