A member of an illegal armed group abroad sentenced

The trial of Elkhan Ibrahimov, accused of joining an illegal armed group in a foreign country and participating in its training, has concluded. According to oxu.az, the Sheki Court of Grave Crimes, presided over by Judge Khalig Mammadov, read the verdict, sentencing the accused Elkhan Ibrahimov to seven years in prison.
According to the indictment, he joined an illegal armed group in a foreign country, participated in various military training sessions for the group, and served as its armed guard.
Elkhan Ibrahimov was found guilty under Articles 12.1, 218.2 (participation in a criminal community (organization), as well as in an association of organizers, leaders or other representatives of organized gangs) and 12.1, 279.1 (creation of armed formations or groups not provided for by law, as well as participation in their activities) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
