A sentence handed down for the man who plotted a terrorist attack on a synagogue

The trial of Abdulla Aliyev, accused of plotting a terrorist attack, has concluded in Azerbaijan. The case was initiated by the State Security Service (SSS). According to APA, the hearing took place in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, presided over by Judge Aygun Gurbanova.
The defendant’s lawyer, in his closing argument, requested that his client be acquitted, but the motion was denied. In his final statement, Aliyev stated his remorse for his actions.
The court found Abdulla Aliyev guilty and sentenced him to 13 years in a maximum-security penal colony.
He is charged under Articles 28, 214.2.1; 28, 214.2.3; 28, 214.2.6; and 218.2 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that an 18-year-old resident of Sumgayit, affiliated with the terrorist organization ISIS Khorasan, planned to carry out a terrorist attack against a Mountain Jewish synagogue in central Baku using a Molotov cocktail. He was caught red-handed by State Security Service officers while preparing the attack.
