In the first half of 2025, the illegal import of precious stones totaling approximately 1,300 carats prevented

From January to September of this year, officers of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan prevented an attempt to illegally import approximately 1,295 carats of precious stones into the country, Oxu.Az reports, citing the State Committee.

According to the information, as a result of the measures taken over the nine months, 220 grams of gold bars, 437 pieces of gold jewelry worth 267,057 manat, 7,259.16 grams of silver jewelry and items, and 1,295,843 carats of precious stones were seized from individuals who violated the law.

In addition, during this period, 433,890 US dollars, 10,410,000 Russian rubles, 21,690 euros, and 100,000 British pounds were identified and seized.
