A sales representative who embezzled approximately 76,000 manats sentenced

The Baku Grave Crimes Court has concluded the criminal investigation into Farrukh Imranov (not his real name), accused of embezzlement, oxu.az reports. He was sentenced to five years in prison.

According to the indictment, Imranov worked as a sales representative for an LLC engaged in the sale of food and non-food products in Baku from March 11, 2020, to October 31, 2023. During this period, he embezzled 75,899 manats from the proceeds of the sale.

At the court hearing, Farrukh Imranov pleaded guilty to the charges and stated in his testimony that between 2010 and 2020, his father underwent four heart surgeries, which significantly worsened the family’s financial situation. The defendant failed to deposit cash for the goods sold. He has already paid 10,000 manat in damages.
