The verdict read out for former officials of the Sanitary and Quarantine Center

The final hearing was held for Saleh Novruzi, former director general of the Republican Sanitary and Quarantine Center of the Ministry of Health, Yadulla Balyshov, deputy director of the center, and Tahir Valiyev, head of the laboratory department, accused of accepting a large bribe.

According to APA, the verdict was read out at a court hearing held at the Baku Grave Crimes Court, according to which Saleh Novruzi, Yadulla Balyshov, and Tahir Valiyev were sentenced to nine years in prison.

They are accused of conspiracy to accept large bribes from citizens in various activities. A criminal case has been opened under Articles 311.3.1, 311.3.2, 311.3.3 (accepting a bribe by a group of persons by prior agreement, committed repeatedly and on a large scale) and 308.2 (abuse of office, resulting in grave consequences) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
