The trial of those accused of plotting an assassination attempt on a religious figure began

A preparatory hearing was held today in the criminal case opened by the State Security Service against Narmina Shabanova, Elvin Akhmedov, and Naib Ismiyev, accused of attempting to assassinate a religious figure. As reported by APA, the personal information of the defendants was clarified at the Baku Court of Grave Crimes today, chaired by Judge Vugar Seyidov.

Naib Ismiyev’s lawyer requested a postponement of the trial. The court granted the request.

The next hearing is scheduled for November 20.

It is noted that the defendants were detained as a result of an operation conducted by the State Security Service. Narmina Shabanova and Naib Ismiyev are charged under Articles 28 and 277, and Elvin Akhmedov is charged under Article 228.2.1.
