An attempt to smuggle drugs from Iran using a drone prevented

Azerbaijani border guards prevented an attempt to smuggle narcotics from Iran into the country using an unmanned aerial vehicle, Report informs, citing the State Border Service. The incident occurred on the service area of ​​the Horadiz border detachment.

The drone was used to attempt to smuggle 17 kg 235 grams of narcotics into Azerbaijan, including 14 kg 85 grams of marijuana, 3 kg 120 grams of methamphetamine, 30 grams of opium, and 500 M-40 methadone tablets.

During the investigation, Azerbaijani citizen Azer Orujov was detained and admitted to arriving at the scene to pick up the illegal cargo.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
