Officers from the Main Directorate for Combating Cybercrime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Azerbaijan conducted operational and technical measures against individuals who defrauded citizens and embezzled their money through various false promises and enticing offers on social media, Oxu.Az reports, citing the press service of the MIA.
Previously convicted individuals Shahin Rajabov, Agshin Badalov, Ilkin Niyazov, and Jafar Jafarov were detained during the measures.
The investigation revealed that A. Badalov and I. Niyazov posted advertisements on social media and various websites offering expensive mobile phone numbers, cars, and houses belonging to other people for sale at prices significantly lower than their real estate value, presenting them as their own.
A criminal case has been opened under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
The court decided to place Sh.Rajabov and A.Badalov under preventive measures in the form of arrest, while alternative preventive measures were chosen for the others.
