Police detained a man who stole 70,000 manats and jewelry

A robbery occurred in a house in the Nizami District of Baku, Oxu.Az reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.
The victim contacted the police and reported that an unknown person had stolen a safe from his apartment containing 70,000 manats in cash, gold jewelry worth 8,000 manats, and personal documents.
During an operational search, officers from the 24th Precinct of the Nizami District Police Department identified and detained 26-year-old Muhammad Majid, a suspect in the crime. The investigation revealed that he took advantage of the owner’s absence to enter the apartment and steal the safe. His actions were recorded by CCTV cameras.
A criminal case has been opened by the Nizami District Police Department under the relevant article of the Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
