A fake lawyer has been sentenced to prison

The director of Əsma Hüquq Xidmətləri Servis LLC has been sentenced. As reported by Oxu.Az, the Khatai District Court sentenced Tahir Gurbanov, charged under Articles 178.2.2, 178.2.3, and 178.2.4 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to three years’ imprisonment and a ban on holding leadership or responsible positions in state and local government for one year and six months.

According to the case materials, Gurbanov committed fraud against several individuals. His victims were primarily relatives of those arrested. The defendant, promising to help mitigate the sentences or secure the release of these individuals, received a total of over 50,000 manat from the victims.

Since these promises were not fulfilled, law enforcement agencies filed complaints regarding Gurbanov’s actions. He was detained and charged.

It is noted that 63-year-old T. Gurbanov posed as a lawyer to his victims.
