n connection with the fire that broke out in a multi-storey residential building located on Mirali Seyidov Street, Yasamal district, Baku city, employees of the Criminalistics and Information Technologies Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, together with employees of the relevant state agencies, including the Ministry of Emergency Situations, are examining the scene and performing other necessary procedural actions, APA reports citing Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Relevant investigative actions have been conducted and examinations have been ordered to determine the cause of the fire. 3 people suffocated and died from the smoke generated as a result of the incident, and at least 20 people were poisoned.
The poisoned people have been hospitalized, their condition is currently satisfactory and they are continuing to be provided with necessary medical services.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Prosecutor General’s Office in connection with the fact and a preliminary investigation is underway under the relevant article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
