Suspects of drug trafficking have been detained in Baku and Absheron, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During operations conducted by officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Main Anti-Narcotics Department in the Absheron and Garadagh districts, 23-year-old Akbar Alyzade and 36-year-old Rahib Mammadov were detained.
Approximately 10 kg of marijuana laced with psychotropic substances and 2,600 methadone tablets were found and confiscated from the detainees.
It was discovered that the detainees had entered into a criminal relationship with Iranian citizens, whose identities are being established, and planned to hide the acquired drugs at pre-determined locations for sale.
A criminal case has been opened, and investigative measures are ongoing.
