MIA: Cyber-hacking of citizens’ bank cards is being recorded in Azerbaijan

Case after case of cyber-hacking of citizens’ bank cards, using various methods, has been recorded in Azerbaijan. As reported by Report, the Ministry of Internal Affairs released this information.

The ministry notes that sharing confidential card information with third parties can lead to financial losses and even credit obligations.

“If you share your CVV/CVC code, OTP password, login and password for accessing banking systems, or your card PIN with third parties, criminals can steal funds from your account or take out a loan, even if your balance is empty,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs warns.

Citizens are urged to be especially vigilant about suspicious calls and offers of “lucrative earnings,” insurance, visa applications, “enhanced security” for bank accounts, or confirmation of incoming payments.

“Under no circumstances should you share your personal banking information with unknown individuals—the threat is real,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasizes.
