On December 10, a man placed on the international wanted list by the Interpol National Central Bureau in our country was extradited to the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR).
According to Oxu.Az, citing the press service of the AR Ministry of Justice, the man in question is Ukrainian citizen Samik Babayev, who is charged under Article 120.2.5 (premeditated murder committed for mercenary motives or for hire, as well as for the purpose of using the victim’s organs or tissue) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
Babayev’s location was established in the Federal Republic of Germany, where he was arrested.
Permission for extradition was obtained based on a request from the Prosecutor General’s Office and the necessary documents submitted by the Ministry of Justice in accordance with international procedures.
Responsible officials from the Main Directorate for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Justice and the Penitentiary Service transported S. Babayev from Germany to Azerbaijan. The suspect is currently being held in the Baku pretrial detention facility of the Penitentiary Service.
