Corruption scandal at the Ministry of Health: Multi-million dollar assets of female officials seized

The property of Ministry of Health employees accused of illegally issuing permits for plastic surgery and other medical services has been seized. The value of the seized assets is estimated at millions of manats. According to Oxu.Az, most of the seized property consists of apartments located at various addresses.
The former head of the Ministry of Health’s Department of Human Resources, Science, and Education, Saida Rustamova, the former chief specialist-senior inspector of the same department, Rugiyya Magerramova, and the former head of the accreditation department of the Ministry’s Center for Public Health and Reforms, Letafet Jabbarova, have registered some of their properties in the names of their close relatives.
The largest amount of property belongs to Saida Rustamova, who is considered a key figure in this criminal case. During her tenure, she acquired numerous properties. The average market value of her property is approximately 5 million manats.
The court also ordered the seizure of several apartments and cars belonging to Letafet Jabbarova and Rugiyya Maharramova, who are accused of the same crimes.
The case is being heard by the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, presided over by Judge Mahira Kerimova. If found guilty, the defendants, who are currently under house arrest, face prison terms of more than 10 years.
