Car dealership owners convicted of embezzling approximately one million manat

The trial in Baku has concluded in the criminal case against car dealership managers Farid Jalalov and Kamil Gabilli, accused of defrauding 14 people totaling approximately one million manat. As reported by Oxu.Az, the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, presided over by Judge Farid Namazov, announced the verdict: each defendant was sentenced to 7 years, 11 months, and 28 days in prison.

Previously, the state prosecutor had insisted on a harsher sentence, requesting nine years for each defendant.

According to the case materials, Jalalov and Gabilli embezzled money from customers under the guise of selling cars. Fourteen people were recognized as victims, and they suffered significant financial damage. The defendants were found guilty under Article 178.2.3 (fraud committed with causing major damage) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
