The cassation appeal against the sentence against Teymur Kerimov, the head of the online television channel Kanal 11, has been heard. According to APA, the decision was made today in the Supreme Court during a trial presided over by Judge Ilgar Jafarov.
The cassation appeal was partially upheld. The sentence has been reduced by two years.
Earlier, the Baku Court of Grave Crimes sentenced Teymur Kerimov to eight years in prison with a two-year ban on journalistic activity. He was charged under Article 182.2.1 (extortion committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy).
