As a result of operations conducted by officers of the Astara Customs Administration, over 148 kg of narcotics were discovered and seized from illegal circulation, Oxu.Az reports, citing the State Customs Committee (SCC).
The drugs were discovered in a vehicle carrying celery and lettuce from Iran to Russia in transit through our country.
“During an inspection using a stationary X-ray machine, suspicious lines were noticed, resulting in a customs inspection of the truck using a canine service dog.
Narcotics concealed from customs control were discovered in two pallets in the vehicle: 58 kg 610 g of hashish and 89 kg 705 g of marijuana.
An investigation is underway,” the report states.
