Sale of a large shipment of contraband cigarettes prevented

Officers from the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan have stopped the sale of 1.18 million cigarettes illegally imported into the country, Oxu.Az reports, citing the SCC press service. As a result of investigative operations conducted by officers from the Main Operational and Investigative Department of the State Customs Committee and the Baku Main Customs Department, 1,180,000 Platinium Seven cigarettes without the required labeling were discovered in the city of Khirdalan in the Absheron region.

The total value of the shipment was approximately 150,000 manat.

An investigation is underway, and further information on the findings will be made public.
