Court verdict in the 1.4 million manat theft case

The Baku Grave Crimes Court has completed its hearing of the criminal case against Vasiliy Ibragimov and Tasviri Melikov (both surnames are conditional), accused of theft, Oxu.Az reports. During the hearing, chaired by Judge Vugar Guliyev, the verdict was announced: V. Ibragimov was sentenced to 11 years in prison, and T. Melikov to 10 years in prison.
According to the case materials, Ibragimov, who held the position of senior operator at a joint-stock company (JSC), entered into a criminal conspiracy with T. Melikov, a foreman at the same company, to secretly steal property. They had agreed in advance to commit the theft.
In September 2024, while working in the same team, they secretly stole various types of industrial moldings from a JSC workshop located in the Sabunchu district of Baku.
The indictment states that the total value of the stolen property was 1,353,500 manat. As a result, the company suffered significant material damage.
Following the incident, the men were detained and placed under arrest.
